In Kentucky bourbon is more than the beautiful amber color in your favorite glencairn glass. It is the tattered mash bill found in granddad’s old desk drawer next to his gold pocket watch. It is the black and white photo of grandma smiling at the camera as she makes Christmas dinner. Bourbon is a family tradition proudly handed down from generation to generation. Our resident central Kentucky bourbon historian, Jerry Daniels and his partner Lowell Arnett, share their knowledge of Kentucky’s famous bourbon families on their videocast, Behind the Label. Join our bourbon influencers for a live session on the Pepper Family of Woodford County and a tasting of this historical bourbon lineage.

This Georgetown-centric tour will showcase the best the city has to offer. Distinctive accents, friendly folks, traditional music, verdant rolling hills that give way to stone-fenced horse farms and the fragrant scent of native spirits lingering on the breeze. There are two places in the world that fit that description-Ireland and Kentucky. It is no wonder towns in Kentucky are sister cities with towns in Ireland. Our “Dublin Down in the Bluegrass” tour celebrates the special connection between these two idyllic regions by highlighting the Irish influence in the Bluegrass. We begin this tour at Coolmore at Ashford Stud, home to the two living Triple Crown Winners, American Pharoah and Justify. This Irish-owned horse farm is an exclusive stop on any horse lover’s bucket list. Our next stop will be at Pearse Lyon’s Town Branch Distillery, which is designed to replicate a streetscape in his beloved Ireland. We will then enjoy an Irish-themed dinner prepared by Chef Haffey at Fairyhouse Hall. We will finish with a historical tasting of Irish whiskey/ bourbon. This tour is great for those with the heart of the Irish.
